Million Dollar Leadership: The #1 Maker or Breaker Every Leader Must Know

Published on September 16, 2025 at 6:00 PM

When most people think about leadership, they picture someone with the title, the authority, and the power to make decisions. But here’s the truth, titles don’t make leaders. Choices do.

And the biggest choice a leader can make? Whether to try to do it all alone or to build others up along the way. That’s the real million-dollar maker or breaker in leadership.

My Turning Point as a Young Leader

Back in 2018, I stepped into my first leadership role with sky-high expectations. I thought that in order to succeed, I had to do everything myself. If I just worked harder, stayed longer, and made sure everything was done my way, I’d be leading a “successful” team.

The reality was very different. I was exhausted, staying late at work, and still feeling like my days were unfinished. I wasn’t leading, I was drowning.

The 30-60-90 Day Plan That Changed Everything

One of my managers challenged me to create a 30, 60, and 90-day action plan. At first, it felt like just another task on my already heavy plate. But as I wrote out that plan, something clicked.

My “do it all myself” approach wasn’t leadership at all. In fact, it was holding everyone back, including me.

Leadership Isn’t About Being the Hero

What I realized was simple: leadership is not about being the hero, it’s about building heroes.

When I shifted my focus from control to development, everything changed. I started training and mentoring team members in small groups. I gave them space to learn, take ownership, and grow.

Real Success Is About Multiplication

The result? Many of those individuals went on to build successful careers of their own. That’s when I understood that real success as a leader is measured not by what you accomplish alone, but by how many others you empower along the way.

Fast forward to today, and my mission hasn’t changed. That’s why I created The Aquiliea Method, a resource built to guide young leaders, new entrepreneurs, and anyone ready to step into leadership with confidence.

It’s not about managing tasks, it’s about building legacies. And when you focus on developing others, you unlock the kind of leadership that truly makes a million-dollar impact.

 Maker or Breaker?

If you’re stepping into leadership, or even if you’ve been in the role for years, ask yourself:

➡️ Am I trying to do it all alone?
➡️ Or am I building people who will multiply success?

Because that choice is what separates leadership that breaks under pressure from leadership that makes lasting impact.
